The electronic scientific edition «Historical-legal problems: the New viewpoint» is intended for the publication of scientific materials on historical-legal subjects as a whole, or devoted to a certain theme of the issue.

The Rules of the publication of articles in the journal

The journal publishes articles written by the university teaching staff and post-graduate students and other authors who as a rule have presented their materials for the publication. These materials should have been discussed at a seminar at one of the university departments. Authors, who want their articles to be published in the journal, should send their works. The article must correspond to the specialization of the journal and the materials must be arranged according to the rules of the publishing formalities (see below). The decision on the publication of the article (or its rejection) is accepted by the editorial committee after its reviewing and discussion.

The order of accepting and reviewing of the manuscripts of the articles coming to the editorial staff of the journal «Historical-legal problems: the New viewpoint»

  1. Manuscripts of scientific articles (hereinafter referred to as manuscripts), coming to the editorial staff of the journal «Historical-legal problems: the New viewpoint», are the subject to reviewing.
  2. Manuscripts should be presented in an electronic form to the address:
  3. The questionnaire of the author must be sent to the editorial office together with the manuscript.
  4. The materials will be published in the journal in case they correspond to the demands of scientific and information novelty. The publication of articles having been published before or articles given for the publication in other issues (even in formal amended wording) is not admitted.
  5. The author of the manuscript, given to the editorial staff, guarantees the absence of plagiarism and other forms of illegal borrowings in the manuscript of the work, and the compliance with the appropriate requirements of publishing formalities of all borrowings of the text, tables, circuits, etc.
  6. The editor-in-chief makes a decision on compliance of the received manuscript to the subject area of the journal.
  7. If the manuscript corresponds to the subject area of the journal, the editor-in-chief gives the manuscript to two reviewers. The terms of reviewing are defined individually by the editor-in-chief, but cannot be more than two months.
  8. Reviewers within the time limit, defined by the editor-in-chief, give their reviews to the editorial staff.
  9. Reviews are written in a free form. The review must contain the recommendation for publications of the manuscript or the publication of the manuscript after the removal of all the reviewer’s remarks by the author or the rejection in the publication of the manuscript.
  10. The recommendation for the rejection of the manuscript to the publication should be proved by the reviewer.
  11. Reviewing is anonymous. The reviewers do not have any information about the author of reviewed manuscripts. Authors are not informed about the reviewers.
  12. The reviews are given on the demand only to the authors or the experts of the Higher Attestation Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
  13. The payment for the publication of manuscripts (including post-graduate students) is not charged.
  14. The manuscript will be published after making the author's contract with the author.

In 2013 we are going to publish the sixth issue of the thematic edition of scientific works « Historical-legal problems: the New viewpoint», devoted to 1918. The first years of the Soviet government have always provoked interest of historians of law. In this connection 1918 has not been chosen by chance: it was rich in events, both in Russian, and in a foreign history, but at the same time has remained in a shadow of the previous year.

In our new issue we are going to collect the material which either directly or indirectly is connected with this chronotope (time and place) through the events, historical figures, legal acts. We also offer our authors to create the materials reflecting the legal reality of the whole period.

Requirements for Manuscripts elements:

  1. Text Font: Book Antiqua 14.
  2. Automatic footnotes: Book Antiqua 12, each page has its new numeration. One inch paragraph indentations.
  3. Align is justified.
  4. One inch paragraph indentations.
  5. The volume of the article main body is allowed to be up to 1 pp (40 thousand characters). In the case of exceeding this limit, you should discuss it with the editor.
  6. Title of the article: capital letters in the center, bold Book Antiqua 14.
  7. Information about the author: to the right, note the course. Information about the author should contain name, surname, middle name, academic title, degree, affilation (place of work), e-mail contact (see the example).
  8. The recommended size of the abstract is 3-5 sentences, should be presented both in Russian and English.   9. Bibliographic reference should contain information about another document cited, considered or mentioned in the text of the article. Tables and figures in the text should be avoided, if it is not possible, the pattern should be performed in a single image within the text field, with a small amount of picture - with text wrapping. Figure captions are performed beneath font Book Antiqua, height 12 points. The name of tables should be drawn above them, font Book Antiqua, height 12 points.

Since the journal is printed in one color, the use of colored pictures, graphics, texts is not recommended.
